nitty gritty

cuddle…

Gracie, my daughter, and I cuddled on our big recliner yesterday and talked about Christmas and watched football… It was great! A little slice of heaven. I mean really, who doesn’t like a little cuddle? A warm blanket, sweet discussion, a tickle… Sweet.

Some time ago a student asked ne to pray for his parents’ marriage. It was obvious that his Dad & Mom were becoming more and more dysfunctional and distant. They weren’t talking, they barely looked at each other, they weren’t even sleeping in the same room! Dad had aleady told the family that he was leaving after the youngest kid (the kid I was talking with) graduated from high school. Things were sad. We have been praying for a while now. Hope.

Recenly though, this kid (now a junior) came to me and just kinda stood there witha big stupid grin. He just stood there and smiled. So I finally gave in… “What are you smiling about you dork?” (asked the ever sensitive Youth Pastor). He just blushed and said with a slight leap, “Cuddles!”. I queerried further and he went on to explain that his parents had recently started cuddling and talking and even sleeping together! “Go is awesome!” the kid replied. All this to say that mayb we should cuddle more.

Cuddle with the Lord. Cuddle with family. Cuddle with your accountant… okay maybe not that one. I guess what I am talking about is staying close and taking the time to cuddle.
